death by coffee breath

every night in the bennett house, me & min enjoy some good coffee. the older we get the better this night time coffee gets. i've always kinda laughed @ older people that drink a cup of coffee w/their burger. i'm thinkin' that it no time flat, i'll soon be one of them.

another thing that we & min do every night- is tuck the girls in bed, then we pray w/them individually. i sit on the edge of the bed then lean over & pray w/my head on their head. don't know why- just what i/we do. in the years past the girls never mentioned that anything bothered them during this time of prayer.

well, over the last month or so, all 3 of my girls have, in a very candid kid way, told me that my breath stinks. i ask them what it smells like & they scrunch their faces up & say, "like coffee". just the other night, i caught the bird slowly slithering down my body to get away from the dreaded coffee breath. so, i just kept bringing her back up- closer to my face, so she could enjoy the coffee breath. ;-) anyway, it looks like i'll need to put a mint in for the girls while i put them to bed in the future or stop drinking coffee @ night or brush my teeth before putting them down- this is apparently becoming a hindrance to our prayer time. :-)

what happened to the good old days when my girls didn't tell me that i had bad coffee breath?
:-)

I have the perfect solution to your dilemma. Drink a mocha or eat some chocolate with your coffee. Not only will you be getting some antioxidants and lowering your risk of heart disease (see my post from a couple of weeks ago), but your daughters probably will enjoy the chocolatey breath.

let's be real- most of us have coffee breath- now don't we?

i've tried the chocolate, but the girls usually try to juice for some chocolate before they go to sleep. they'll say something like, "dad, have you been eating chocolate? can i have some"?

Yes, dear. You can have some chocolate tomorrow morning if you're a good girl and go to sleep now. :)

Great story Jay. I love coffee myself and I'm always worried about having coffee breath. My little Gracie never hesitates to keep me in line on issues as important as this.

Coffee at night is great. It's even better when your caffine tolerance is really high. Then coffee at night helps you sleep.

i'm thinking about trying an experiment: i will attempt to be as candid & straight-forward as my girls are. :-)this will be pure fun for most of you that i come in contact w/.

i like the mints provided @ the cafe as well. the cinamon ones go great w/coffee.

coffee @ night is great. caffeine has stopped effecting me. murdoc- how many cups a night for better sleeping?

that would be me. coffee at night is the best sleepytime effect ever except for maybe sleepytime tea.
