Non-Running Workouts

I'm really starting to enjoy my cross-training days. The gym I go to has a nice bike and a T.V. right in front of it. While I pedal for 40 minutes, I watch news and read books. I like exercises that allow for me to read at the same time. Then I move on to the weights and continue watching the news (between sets of course).

In case anyone is wondering- shrugs build the trap (trapezius) muscles. If you don't know what a trap is- think of what Spock would do to people to submit them. Remember what he grabbed/pinched/gripped? The trap controls the movement of the scapula (shoulder blade).

1) I like to read while on the eliptical trainer.
2) The trap controls the movement of the Spockula? (he he he...)
3)What happened to your post from yesterday?

Good one on the Spockula. :>)

I deleted my "Thankful" post, because I started getting a general uneasiness about it.

Never feel uneasy about "thankfulness", dude . . . you know that! :-)

Don't make me come out there . . .

Pluck- Did you read the Thankful post? My concern was that it would come off like I was gloating. Maybe us Christians struggle with stating the good things that God has done without somehow feeling like it makes those around us feel even worse that they haven't been healed yet in some area.?.

What I wanted to say was: I'm thankful that God has healed my feet. Since 1986 they had been really bad (painful). After running this last year, my feet are almost pain free and I'm able to not focus on them whenever I'm on my feet. I'm very thankful to Him for that. :>)

I did not think it sounded like gloating... It sounded like glorifying God to me! You were not putting the credit for any of that on anything you had done (aside from being obedient to take up running) so I think it was fine... Also, I think that since there are so many other runners who read this, that it was the sort of post that could give them hope that someday running can help THEM overcome some sort of pain, too.

P.S. As an encouragement, you've never even come across as the type to gloat. You always want the glory to be for God, and I appreciate that about you!

I read it and thought it was fine. I left feeling happy for you because you're my friend.

You worry too much, gloater . . . :-)
