have been concerned, lately, about whether becca's gymnastics coach knows her name or not. also, i haven't been sure if anyone knows her name @ gymnastics (this goes for all the kids that attend as well).
my concern is that our children are being cow-herded through basic gymnastics for money- not to truly develop & improve the child. so, i decided to closely observe coach/child interaction for some little bit of proof that the coach(es) know becca's name & if they "engage" her in a kind/interested/loving/guiding way.
i appreciate & value relationships where my girls interact/learn from/etc.. adults (they have many aunts/uncles @ hillside- thank you). i also desire this from others in our community that play such a big role in shaping their lives: coaches, teachers, etc...
as i continue to watch for some glimmer of hope w/becca's coach(es), i see nothing that shows me what i value. i'm half-tempted to do a spot-check on her coach & ask her if she knows my daughter's name. i'm not going to entrust my becca to someone that doesn't value her as a person. on top of that, i'm not going to spend our money on someone that ignores/neglects my child. if i wanted to do that, i could get a 13-year-old neighborhood girl to baby-sit her/them.
i'm thinking of trying some new gymnastics places. any recommendations out there?

when destiny was younger she also participated in gymnastics. i noticed some of the same things you are talking about, it just took me longer to see it. i also noticed how the "stars" got more from the coaches. no thoughts on any other places to take becca. sorry!
they BETTER know becca's name! i'll come over there and remind them if they don't! lol!!
