in coming across a few angry people, lately, i'd like to touch on being mad/angry w/God. for many years, i struggled w/being mad @ God. i had some questions needing to be answered by Him. the main struggle was: i was really angry w/God, but didn't want to be dishonoring/irreverent of Him. so, i was stuck in being mad- w/no way to express it.
why did i think that expressing my true feelings (truth-based) about hurtful things was bad/wrong to express to God? looking back there's 2 main reasons, as to why i withheld from God:
1) i viewed God the same as i viewed my earthly father (mean, abusive, condemning, judgmental, overly quick to discipline me, etc...)
2) i actually thought that God couldn't handle my anger towards Him. i thought that it would cause him to turn his back on me. i thought it would cause more punishment on me.
*about a year ago, during a time of prayer w/close friends, for the very first time, i got "mad" w/God & "let Him have it.". i could write a book on this subject, but i won't, for the value brevity holds @ times. :-)
*ANGER IS A TRUTH-BASED EMOTION: powerlessness, abandonment, helplessness, injustice, things not fair, regret, disappointment, working through consequences, abuse, etc..... what we do w/that anger is often a different story. nonetheless, it's OKAY to tell God exactly what's on your mind, then seek: direction from Him & cast that care upon Him. He will straighten things out- EVERY TIME!
point of encouragement: God wants to hear from you- good, bad, ugly, & indifferent. He allows for communication & is NOT overwhelmed by your anger towards Him. He loves you, sings over you, & cherishes you. expressing anger is healthy & absolutely necessary for loving relationships. God wants to hear from you, today- even regarding your areas of anger towards Him.

The thing that we seem to forget is that He already knows how mad we are! He just wants us to recognize it.
jaybird--Your posts rock!!! That is all...
Good stuff, Jay. I think that King David modeled well for us that its okay to express our frustrations honestly to God.
