a return to JOY

  • @ what level is my/your joy (on a scale of 1 - 10)?
  • if i makes fists & grit my teeth- can i increase my joy?
  • if i think positive thoughts will it help?
  • if i heal in various ways will it better allow me/us to have more joy?

some of the questions are rhetorical & others are not. my intent is for us to explore @ what level we experience joy. to count all things as joy- even the very hard times. what allows a person to experience this joy? is it a matter of faith, maturity, healing,?

some people have lived in environments that encourage their "joy strength." others have not! my goal is to actively pursue healing in areas that inhibit/make hard/block my ability to have a higher level of joy. would anybody else like to join me in this endeavor?

late, jay

joy- to me some things that bring it: my children running to my car after school excited to tell of thier day(some kids can't run, can't talk, can't tell of thier day the way mine can)
laying isaiah down for a nap(joyful for a moment that i can interact with adults via computer but also for the quiet)
joyful about my sisters future, the day at preschool with kids who make me laugh and feel joy alot (especially while in dress ups)that my family is healthy right now, that Jesus knows my name. really simple things (probably to some foolish)bring me great joy.
things that rob me of my joy...well that is another blog topic that i am forever working on to change.

...i believe "joy" is a choice, like remaining in the Presence of God...not a fleeting feeling that comes and goes w/good times or bad, but a realized state of being...my 2 cents...
