i'm getting really excited about the marathon coming up. i love the feeling i get when i've worked hard/diligently @ something & get to see it play-out. early on during this training semester, i missed 3 weeks of training. at times i wondered if i was going to be able to run the marathon. i decided that my 3 weeks off were, in the long run, beneficial to me: my body did a detox of its own. my lungs, stomach, & everything else got all cleaned out in preparation for the marathon. i thought it might be bad, but God had plans. i'm feeling great & my legs are stronger/more pumped than ever.
you know- there's a lot to be said about going slowly, being diligent, & working through obstacles. running has been a great way to learn those things: no need to freak, fear, and/or quit- just pray- keep pluggin'- listen.
i'm so excited. i'm going to inhale this marathon. all the sites, smells, & people encounters will be breathed in. thank you Lord for the opportunity & privilege to run in the marathon. i pray for all the others that are running. i pray that they be kept safe & healthy, & that they run smart (stick to their plan). be glorified, Lord, in our running. thanks for loving us so much!
p.s.: run smart. remember that the marathon has plenty of miles in it. go slow enough to have options- if ya don't- the race will be dictated for ya- in lots of pain.
love ya,
jay
