barking dogs

do you have any "barking dogs" in your life? you know the ones. some are behind a fence you can't see through & scare the poo out of you when you get near the fence. i usually have a minor heart-attack & get cramps in my legs for fear of losing my life. then there's the dogs that bark behind a "see-through" fence & they charge the fence barking viciously & all threatening. how 'bout those dogs on leashes that you walk by. they're so tough w/ that leash on them. how 'bout those dogs that roam the neighborhood looking for any person to scare or run-down on a bike.

the barking dogs in which i speak, aren't all that tough or powerful, but make such a threatening racket. you ever seen a little pug, poodle, pomeranian, scotty, min-pin, barking & trying to scare you. it's almost comical when i see them. now- let's take the pug & make it dark outside. let's have the same pug that's almost funny to watch all actin' bad & stuff, but now i can't see him, because it's dark. let's say i can't even see if there's a fence there or not. let's say any bark in the dark is gonna scare ya a bit.

ya see- i've been accustomed to running in the dark, hearing a barking dog, then having a minor heart-attack, & getting muscle cramps. let's just say that i'm not speaking in literal terms here. how does the barking dog of the "night", become the little barking pug of the day? well, you turn the "Light" on. the once HUGE, rottweiler of the night, becomes the little, posturing pug of the day. ya know what i'm sayin'?

today, i believe, is a great day w/ a major milestone achieved- for me, that is. you see the daddy of barking dogs came to turn out the lights & have his little puppies come & bark/scare me. w/ a little help from my friends, we were able to sense the darkness fading in, then by the power of the Light, speak protection & turn on the flood lights. i won't front on this. i flinched & even cried a bit.

please try to understand what i'm saying in all of this. we don't fight a battle that we can see w/ our eyes & fight w/ our fists- we fight a battle that is unseen & in the spiritual realm. please be aware that your prayers & realization of this is very important. what i'd like to do w/ barking dogs, in the flesh, is to smash their heads-in or hope that their owners would get them some shock collars- that's funny- that won't happen.

i pray protection over our community (hillside), our families, & our homes.

Psalm 23
A psalm of David.

1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,

3 he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

good analogy. i have barking dogs in the daylight when i am walking. sometimes i don't see them until after i hear them. my heart skips, i freeze. then i see they are behind a fence or on a chain. i walk the same route everyday to avoid surprises & fear. do we do that in our christian walk also? just a thought.
