have you ever been talking w/ someone & they finish your statement for you? how 'bout when the person is looking all around while you're talking & you get the impression that they're thinking about something else? have you ever talked to an "agenda" person? you know the one- they act completely disinterested/preoccupied while you're talking, because they're just waiting for you to finish, so they can say what they've wanted the whole time you were talking! i get a slight bit irritated when i can't finish my sentence, the other person is guessing what i'm going to say next, or ignores me until they can inch in & talk about their "agenda". this really peeves me off.
there's this guy i know. when i talk to him (about anything) he fidgets & looks all around. sometimes when i'm finished talking, he doesn't even notice/know, then it dawns on him that i'm done & a response would be nice. i figure he must be overwhelmed by some worry or schedule thing, but it happens all the time. i'm thinking he needs to sharpen up on the listening skills or lighten his load. admittedly, i say crazy things when he's not listening to see if he catches it. when i see him zoning out, i'll say something like, "i could kick your butt in 3 seconds", to see if he's listening. sometime he notices that i've said something crazy, but most of the time he doesn't.
so, to all the non-listeners out there, you really peeve me off!!! btw, i've been guilty of not listening so well w/ people (dag-nabbit). i guess that means that i irritate myself, because i talk to myself as well. anyway, let's hear y'alls stuff, too.

waiting!! i hate to be kept waiting. i don't just mean at the doctors office, but friends, family, anyone. if you are going to meet someone, please be on time. if we are leaving at a certain time, please be ready on time. when i am kept waiting i feel like i am in limbo. i can't go anywhere, i'm waiting. i can't do anything, i am waiting.
I agree with both of you and have nothing new to contribute at this time. Oh, by the way, did you say something, jaybird? ;)
while i was trying to contact a guy that was late to our meeting, i was half listening to a guy telling me about his vacation. gosh i'm hungry.
My pet peeve is when people won't shut up. One of my roomies has a habbit of talking my ear off so badly that he even keeps talk when he watched me walk out of the room.
I understand he wants to have a relationship, but he never shuts up about how someone he knows did this, when he was young he did this and that, etc. It get's really bad when I need to make an important phone call and he can't even be patient enough to wait until I'm done..he'll chat me up all the way through. AArrrggg. There have been a few times that I almost yelled at him, "DUDE, SHUT UP FOR 3 SECONDS!!" But alas, I keep my cool and just ignore him when I start to get annoyed.
I tried telling him a few times...he still does the same thing.
Pet Peeve #2 - 4: When my home valet lays out a fall outfit in the springtime. When my chef overcooks the filet mignon. And when the pool boy forgets to clean the filter.
No wait, that's my alter ego, richplucky.
At think my real Pet Peeve #2 is perfectly healthy people parking in handicap parking spots. A clear sign that the rules don't apply to them and that their time and convenience is far more valuable than anyone else's.
Oooh... Now I have one. Pet peeve #2:
Drivers who cross over the double yellow line when making a left turn.
