Have you ever bought something on a whim and never really used it? When I was living in Yuma, AZ. ('90s), I saw a commercial for the Ab Roller (above). I thought to myself, "I'm gonna get a six-pack and lose some weight with this bad-boy." I think we paid about $100 for it.
When I got it, I immediately took it out of the box and set it down in the living room. After 3 reps (no kidding), my neck hurt really bad (even with the head/neck rest support thingy). I never used it again.
A very stupid, stupid buy. I look back on that and laugh. Any other stupid buys out there?

Ab-doer. What sucks is that it wasn't even about taking the path of least resistance; I wanted to put in the work. I even stopped eating cake for a month, but that thing was drek.
I hate to admit I bought a $1500 treadmill several years ago that ended up making a very nice towel holder . . .
I never make stupid purchases.
As per my post in August, 2005 (http://linneas-quill.blogspot.com/2005/08/expressing-stress-what-mess.html), the worst (though not terribly expensive)purchase I've ever made is any novel by Nicholas Sparks. While the monetary cost was not significant, the brain cells lost in the attempt to read one of his books is quite costly.
