--able or quick to receive knowledge, ideas, etc.: a receptive mind.
--willing or inclined to receive suggestions, offers, etc., with favor: a receptive listener.
--of or pertaining to reception or receptors: a receptive end organ.
--(in language learning) of or pertaining to the language skills of listening and reading.
There are many ways to posture ourselves for receiving insights/revelations from the Lord. It's important for us to remain in Him and do those things that posture us for His insights. Here are a few of mine (normal routine and/or deliberate) and feel free to add some of yours:
--running (waiting and listening)
--commute to work (no radio, just thinking and silence)
--ironing (house is quiet)
--in my bedroom with the lights off (gets rid of visual noise)
--listen to Mindy and close friends
--yours?

Singing... My song usually changes to a prayer (though still in song form) when God is trying to speak to me... And most of my insights and revelations come to me during while I am worshiping through song.
Never when I want it to and rarely while I'm engaged in "standard" spiritual exercise. Usually out of nowhere and when I least expect it.
