This last Saturday, I took Becca to audition for Aladdin Jr. Up to this point, Becca has been very grateful/gracious and has played some roles that had minimal involvement/lines. She was good to just be in the plays. I have admired her good attitude and gratitude to do anything in her previous plays.
Her main desire in auditioning was to get the part of Jasmine. As you know, she's the main female character of Aladdin. If she didn't get Jasmine, then she was good with being in the chorus (I like how she shot for the stars). Becca sang a solo for about a minute, then recited some lines. She sounded good and projected her voice much better this time. I definitely noticed the improvement from the last times. Mindy and I don't know anything about acting/drama/theater, so we just let her do her thing and try to give some tips when we can. I've become an expert on judging from my experience watching American Idol. :>)
Last night, the play director posted the audition results on Blogger. Look here for the results. She's in Cast A. Becca literally squealed and jumped, skipped, and did more squealing until she got in bed for the night. Then, as I lay down next to her to pray, she hugs me tight and tells me again how excited she is. I gave her a big, tight hug and got a cry lump, because it's this sort of unadulterated joy that God has for us. I'm really glad He blessed her with her part.

Congratulations, Becca!!
That's awesome! I'm very proud of her!
Do you think it would freak her out if you would've just bawled unabashedly? It always freaked me out when I saw either of my parents cry.
That's a good question, Davido. While I think it's good to show emotions that God gives us, I also understand that too much of it or belly-crying can be traumatic fora child, in a sense. Personally, I'm going to step-out and allow myself to cry when I'm happy in front of my girls and close friends. Aferall, the Word does say to experience joy and sorrow with our close ones (this includes crying). Just some thoughts. Yours?
that's pretty sweet. congrats, becca!! the genie is way cooler than jasmine, too, so it's a sweet deal all the way around.
Becca - how exciting. The genie. Does that mean they pain her blue? That would be fun. Do the girls want to go to the musuem this saturday?
