This is my favorite time of the year; the weather is great. It's a pretty busy time right now in the Bennett clan. Mindy's in college, Kayla is cheering, Becca is in dramatics at Hillside and a community play, and Breanna is playing soccer. What does dad do? Well, I drive them to their stuff and make sure they have all their needed stuff- to do their stuff.
Breanna's soccer coach doesn't know how to play soccer. Not a lick. Not a bit. She knows which direction the team should go and ad-libs the rest. It pretty much drives me crazy. I have volunteered to help her with how it's played/rules and she says thanks. This Saturday is Breanna's last game and the coach still hasn't asked me to help. Man. The little team hasn't won a game yet and it's taking a toll on their morale. You ever get frustrated in knowing that you could be of help, but "they" don't want it? Breanna is hangin'-in, but she's not pleased with this losing all the time stuff. Request: At least learn how to play a game/sport before you go and volunteer to coach your kid's team. Okay? Please? Thank you!
It's been fun taxiing the girls around, but I'm definitely ready for a break in the play. Kayla's cheer team is heavily involved in stunting this year and a few of the girls have injuries. The stunting is hard on the knees and lower back. Kayla just got better from some lower back pain (about 2 weeks worth, I think, Mindy?) Cheerleading may not be "full-contact" but it's definitely getting rougher. Kayla loves cheer and remains very focused. Her diligence and persistence are nothing less than exemplary.
Rebecca is memorizing her lines for two different plays. She has a habit of memorizing the whole play in her head- just for fun- what a sweetheart. Whenever I need to remember who I talked to or a character's name on a show that I can't remember- I ask Becca. She can often recite the scene/act and swith between characters. Wow.
Mindy's schooling (signing) is going awesome. She loves it and talks about it a lot. I'm learning a lot from her on the deaf culture and their language. She's doing very well and is acing the tests and such. I'm so very happy for her.
I just mowed the lawn and think it may be the last time for the year. Or, maybe just one more time- we'll see.
Watching my wife and girls enjoy themselves and do what God has for them is awesome. It gives me the warm and fuzzy. Great God, great family, great weather, and great providence. God is in all and I feel extremely loved in the small things. If you get a chance- have dinner with your family around your dinner table and talk about your day/life. Get some of that warm and fuzzy.
Love ya,
Jason

I'm serious when I ask the following question: Are there sounds in a deaf person's dreams? I've always wondered about what blind people dream, too.
I think if the person could hear at one time, then yes. I also think that if I can fly, then maybe the deaf can hear. Same line of thought on the blind. Thoughts?
