Okay, so I don't look like the guy in the picture above. I wouldn't want to under any circumstance. Too skinny for Mindy's tastes as well. No offense to you skinnies out there- just preference. I wish I was as skinny as that guy at about mile 19, today. Every pound of my 208 pound body was felt and was hanging on me like a rack of meat.
My thighs felt like a family of moles were living in them. My left calf decided that it was going to cramp (know the cramping in your foot sometimes?) at certain parts of the run. Man. I had a less than perfect week leading up to it with numerous things causing me some bumps in the road, but I decided that getting this long run in would be important (physically and spiritually).
I crossed the finish line this morning looking like my knee caps stopped bending (they did), my head feeling an irresistible gravitational pull to the ground (extreme fatigue), and my lungs screaming at me with some coughing and big/exaggerated deep breaths.
3 1/2 hours later, I'm feeling human again and have eaten inordinate amounts of unhealthy things. I'm really grateful that the Lord keeps me safe and gives me the privilege of running. What an honor it is to run. I dedicate my run this morning (and every run) to the One deserving glory. Thank you, Lord.
God bless,
Jason

congrats. i only have to run a 7 miler this weekend :-)
You weight 208? You don't look a pound over 205! :-)
I woke up at 10 with a bloody nose and an upset stomach (oddly enough, "Sloop John B" by the Beach Boys was playing in my head immediately). I was back to normal after about 4 hours.
I wish my excuse was that I ran 22 miles. I just have allergies and a sensitive lower gastrointestinal system.
...what toothache?...after 22, life comes nto perspective...
Today, the only thing that's hurting is my left calf. It's like in a permanent state of cramping- very strange. I'm massaging it and stretching it- I'm considering having it surgically removed.
