24 Miler

The Susanville Marathon is in less than a month (Oct. 8) and I'm getting stoked about it. This Friday, I will be running my 24 miler. This will be the first time that I've run this distance in a training/non-marathon day. My plan is to go out really slow and gradually increase speed with mileage. I will be drinking water and sports drink (electrolytes/carbs/protein) all through the run. In addition to that, I will be eating energy bar at miles 8, 12, & 16. The temp range for this Friday will be 39 - 70 degrees (best weather yet for running). I'll be starting the run at around 7 a.m. and will be finishing at around 12 p.m.

I'd like to ask for prayer. Here are the points-of-prayer (that I can think of):

  1. Healthy/Injury free running.
  2. Safety (running surfaces, cars, and dogs).
  3. Enjoyment/Having a fun time (no obsession on watch-watching and worrying about leg cramping).
  4. Remembering that it's God who gets the glory in this and that I'm blessed to be able to do it.
  5. Anything else you can think of......

Thanks,

Jason

I just don't get the satire on this post . . .

Plucky, it's not satire, it's flat out slapstick. I mean, come on, what's the first thing you do when someone says "I'm running 24 miles on x day..." You laugh!

But seriously--I will be praying, jaybird. :)
