The Susanville Marathon is in less than a month (Oct. 8) and I'm getting stoked about it. This Friday, I will be running my 24 miler. This will be the first time that I've run this distance in a training/non-marathon day. My plan is to go out really slow and gradually increase speed with mileage. I will be drinking water and sports drink (electrolytes/carbs/protein) all through the run. In addition to that, I will be eating energy bar at miles 8, 12, & 16. The temp range for this Friday will be 39 - 70 degrees (best weather yet for running). I'll be starting the run at around 7 a.m. and will be finishing at around 12 p.m.
I'd like to ask for prayer. Here are the points-of-prayer (that I can think of):
- Healthy/Injury free running.
- Safety (running surfaces, cars, and dogs).
- Enjoyment/Having a fun time (no obsession on watch-watching and worrying about leg cramping).
- Remembering that it's God who gets the glory in this and that I'm blessed to be able to do it.
- Anything else you can think of......
Thanks,
Jason

I just don't get the satire on this post . . .
Plucky, it's not satire, it's flat out slapstick. I mean, come on, what's the first thing you do when someone says "I'm running 24 miles on x day..." You laugh!
But seriously--I will be praying, jaybird. :)
Thanks, Jeni.
