I remember vividly, not too long ago, the days when our girls were constantly keeping us busy. When the girls were 4, 2, & a couple mos. respectively, it was pretty hectic. I know it was hard on me, but I know it was much harder on Mindy-- she was with them all day/night.
I remember never feeling fully relaxed or free to do anything. I didn't resent it or dislike it, but it was definitely challenging for me. I enjoyed the girls when they were young. They were so cute and funny (they still are). As you parents know, it can be totally fatiguing to always be on alert and having to keep a little one safe, fed, occupied, entertained, etc..
Well, I have been thinking lately about the ages of my girls and how durn easy things are compared to the baby/toddler days. I can take a nap, go for a run, wrestle with them, tease them, bug them, teach them, and even hang-out with Mindy with minimal interruptions.
It's a good spot to have your youngest almost 7 and be able to let down my hair and relax (apparently, I pulled it all out). I'm also really enjoying involving my girls in chores around the house and telling them to figure things out. I love when healthy interdependence starts happening.
Late,
Jason

Just wait until they're 17 and 24!
