Gimme 1 good reason.....

I needed 1 good reason not to run, yesterday. I was warm and cozy at my desk, had good coffee, and Internet access-- does it get any better? My c0-worker was even giving me excuses to help me out from having to run in the wind and cold. I drug my feet for about an hour past my regular running time and finally decided to go and run.
I was right: It was windy and cold and my short-shorts didn't help much. I had the wind at my back for the first half, but you know what I had on the way back (head-wind). It was a good run. I eventually warmed up (about 30 minutes into the 1 hour run). The wind made it seem like I was running in place-- so much fun. It was a great workout though. The thing I like about commitment is that it doesn't depend upon the weather or my mood: I do what I say I'm going to do. My legs can't run a marathon-- if they don't run before the marathon (& often). I know it sounds deep, but pay attention: If you're running this winter, please ignore all attempts of the flesh to keep you from running.

Your putting running off for an hour is nothing; I refused to go to the gym today because it was too cold outside.

You need some long running pants.

Jeni- Yum-- donuts sound good right now with some milk. Did you hear about the recent study of chocolate milk as a sports drink? Seriously-- ask DenDen.

Davido- that was funny. Hang-in, bud, they won't pick on you too much at the gym.

Georgia- my legs like to run free/uninhibited. I will be running with my hat and gloves today though.

sounds like self abuse in this weather

Moses-- Nah, I just have to get the right clothing combo down. My run, yesterday, went great because I ran with a hat and gloves and double-layered my sweat wicking shirts-- perfect. It may even seem counter-intuitive ro run in the cold, but it's actually the best for me. I heat up easily and sweat a ton, so hot weather zaps the electroylytes like nobody's business. Cold weather is great for running. Have you told DenDen that you'll be running the Reno Marathon?
